Meet other expecting parents in Chicago

Expecting Together brings small groups of Chicago couples together, matched by due date and neighborhood, for nurse-led prenatal classes and the friendships that grow from them. You learn what to expect alongside people who are due when you are and live nearby, so your village is already there when your baby arrives.

More than a class

  • A small group of 8 to 12 families, matched by due date and ZIP code

  • A private WhatsApp group, so you can get to know each other before the first class

  • A social with your group, and reunion events after the classes end

  • Partners are part of every class, and solo parents are just as welcome

A group close to home

Groups meet across the city and suburbs, including Lincoln Park, Lakeview, Wicker Park, West Town, Logan Square, Irving Park, River North, the Loop and the West Loop, and in the western suburbs around Naperville and Downers Grove.

What you learn together

Four core classes, about 10 hours in total, led by registered nurses, nurse practitioners and certified nurse-midwives with real bedside experience. Together you cover labor and delivery, postpartum recovery, newborn care, feeding, and how partners can support each other, with room for every question you bring.

Questions families ask

How can I meet other expecting parents in Chicago?

Joining an Expecting Together group is one of the easiest ways. We match you with 8 to 12 couples in Chicago who are due around the same time and live nearby. You meet in person for four classes, chat in your group’s WhatsApp between sessions, and many families stay friends long after their babies arrive.

Are these classes run by a hospital?

Expecting Together is independent, with classes taught by experienced registered nurses, nurse practitioners and certified nurse-midwives. Our nurses work across local delivering hospitals, so they can also answer many questions specific to where you’ll give birth.

Our program goes beyond a typical hospital childbirth class, combining preparation for labor and delivery with postpartum recovery, newborn care, feeding, partner support and mental health, plus a community of local parents to navigate it all alongside you.

Which neighborhoods do you cover?

Groups meet across Chicago, including Lincoln Park, Lakeview, Wicker Park, West Town, Logan Square, Irving Park, River North, the Loop and the West Loop, plus the western suburbs around Naperville and Downers Grove. Search with your ZIP code and due date to see the classes that fit you.

Can my partner come, and can I join on my own?

Yes to both. Classes are designed for couples and partners are part of every session. Solo parents and supportive family members are just as welcome.

Can we pay with an FSA or HSA?

Yes. Expecting Together qualifies for FSA and HSA spending, and you can pay with your card at checkout. If you would rather claim it back later, email hello@expectingtogether.com and we will send a detailed receipt.
