About Expecting Together

Our Story

I’m Georgia Kastaris, the founder of Expecting Together. In 2023, I found myself pregnant and living in London, thousands of miles away from my and my husband’s support networks. What I feared would be an isolating experience became an unexpected journey of connection and community.

A European Approach

During my time in the UK, I discovered a nationwide system of prenatal social clubs – a concept prevalent across Europe. These weren't just classes about labor and delivery; they were vibrant communities of local parents-to-be, all expecting within weeks of each other.

Our group of 10 couples became a tight-knit support system. We shared everything from pregnancy symptoms to newborn care tips. The equal involvement of both partners in our prenatal club fostered a unique dynamic. Men and women found relatable peers during this critical time, creating closer bonds among us all. Instead of post-birth isolation, we found connection through park strolls, coffee meetups, and always-on group chats.

Bringing the Vision Home

Returning to America, I heard a chorus of "I wish we had that here" from friends struggling with fragmented information, partners seeking ways to actively participate, and a real sense of isolation. That's when Expecting Together was born.

We're not just replicating the European model; we're enhancing it for US parents. Our mission? To create a scalable, community-driven approach to prenatal and early parenthood support.

Why It Matters

In a country where:

  • 1 in 5 new mothers experiences postpartum depression

  • 67% of new parents feel unprepared for parenthood

  • 61% of Americans report feeling lonely

We believe there's a better way. Expecting Together is more than a business; it's a movement to transform the magical, but often isolating journey of new parenthood into a supported, communal experience.

Our Promise

At Expecting Together, we're guided by a simple principle: parenting is hard, but it doesn't have to be lonely. We're creating a world where every parent has a village, and every child gets the best possible start.
